Fit by Forty!

I'm on my way to my health goal....I finally have a plan that could work. Joined 24 hour fitness (don't love the atmosphere, but love the convenience of exercising WHENEVER I want) working with a trainer, doing cardio and keeping a food & exercise log.

I've lost 4 lbs in the last week. My goal is 2/wk. Some weeks are bound to be better than others. If I keep up w/ the fitness and food tracking I can be a healthy weight by February 1 and my "cute" weight by May. I'm allowing myself to not loose any weight over Christmas, but I still need to maintain during those weeks to stay on track, so no gaining..... Achieving my cute weight would be nice, but really after so many years now at an unhealthy size, I will feel proud even of achieving and maintaining healthy. At least, that's what i tell myself now.

I have less than 16 months until I turn 40. I plan to celebrate my 40th birthday in good health. I plan to be so fit by then that I feel confident enough to lead a Zumba class. That means not just loosing weight - but improving my cardiovascular health and endurance.

My current (short term) goals: Be able to jog through an entire techno song on the treadmill without stopping or developing shin splints. Also, be able to actually do all of the reps of arm exercises assigned by my personal trainer. Right now my arms and shoulders are REALLY weak.

Daily Examen - things to consider each day

1. Express Gratitude 2. Petition for light (see self & ohters in God's eyes, ask to see the role only I can play) 3. Review the day: look at day's actions, omissions, thoughts & desires what does this tell me aobut myself in relation to self, others, God, the world 4. Lift out something & ask for help 5. look ahead - how do I want to carry on (today - the rest of my life what / who do I want to be master of my life? what are my core values? )
