came home from work friday to find my husband had carved one of his weekly skulls - so I was given my daily picture subject. thanks wonderful artistic husband.
This year's challenges: Work on marketing and business model for Images by Genevieve (my photography) and Casey Fine Art ( my talented husband's art work.) Plan for a Galapagos trip. Make progress toward completing our family with children.

day 22 selective color woodpecker_0098
we saw a lot of birds today - it was unseasonably warm today but the ground was a little damp so rather than cycling - we hiked - which meant I got to carry camera lenses and capture a few of the birds.

Day 17 glass
These are shots of desperation for the 365+! project - feeling uninspired tonight. I filled our grocery bag with some glass bottles from a local milk company (to get our $2 deposits back) and though there's my shot. the BW on the left is my new coffee pot. with the special filters it is supposed to make coffee that is not so acidic - besides it's pretty.

bud out of season
We've had an unseasonably warm winter and only one light dusting of snow - temps in the 50's and 60's this weekend. Today I discovered buds all over the lilac bush out back. This bush has struggled so much since it was transplanted here, the dogs tried to dig it up chasing chipmunks, morning glories tried to strangle it out. finally the past few years it had blooms. Now this....it's not looking good for the 2012 spring lilac season. Maybe it will just stay warm and I'll have winter lilacs.

day 15 bike dyptic_0020
so beautiful today we went fora 22 mile bike ride. started out slow riding into the wind - stopped to take these shots on an old portion of the trial. the main trail was quit crowded. panned while hubby rode by- then for the ohter shot set up tripod and focused on a spot then had him push button - didn't work out quite as I'd hoped. a purist would say not technicallly a self portrait as I didn't use self timer (too short a time for this shot) or remote (don't have one for this camera) I think I need a remote. regardless I really enjoyed the day and am happy with teh panned shot of the husband.

maybe goose shots are a little cliche but i like them. they are so common around here especially right now - but they still don't fail to attract me.

day 13 cleo staring off into the bokeh
bokeh friday over here on flickr - so after work I am lying on the path trying to get a bit of bokeh behind my dog. she is far less facinated with teh camera than the husky who always has to come sniff the lens.

day 10 soothing when sick
SIck day. I thought I'd have more energy after a day of sleep - but after a quick trip to the grocery for tea, soup, dog food, bird seeds, fizzy water - am wiped out and ready for bed again. Only eating carbs today opposite of my diet but soothing the tummy. We know Wednesday being my long work day will be an uninspired iphone shot - (unless there is snow!) so I will have to set my mind to making Thursday's photo more interesting. Perhaps a cardinal if the seed does as intended. Heard the owls tonight but it's too dark out back to see them. There are 2 nested in the neighbors' tree. I hope to see them by daylight eventually with or without my camera.

2012.01.09_macro monday his tools his inspiiration2_0029
happy macro monday! I love theme groups on flickr that give me ideas - when you are doing a daily photo it's helpful inspiration and it causes me to do things I wouldn't normally - or to get back to things I've missed - like macros. I want to do more abstract images too. I'm interested to see how this year develops photographically speaking.

day 8 self portrait sunday. I did one of just me - but I really like this one of us the moment right before the kiss. My love has the softest lips. :-) We've been married 10 years and I am so happy to have him in my life.

Daily Examen - things to consider each day
1. Express Gratitude
2. Petition for light (see self & ohters in God's eyes, ask to see the role only I can play)
3. Review the day: look at day's actions, omissions, thoughts & desires what does this tell me aobut myself in relation to self, others, God, the world
4. Lift out something & ask for help
5. look ahead - how do I want to carry on (today - the rest of my life what / who do I want to be master of my life? what are my core values? )
